Orbit 62100 Yard Enforcer Review

The Orbit 62100 Yard Enforcer Motion Activated Sprinkler with Day and Night Detection Modes – What can I say – come at me bro or in this sprinkler’s case – come at me deer, raccoons, feral cats, you name it!

Lets get down to the bare bones here – TheOrbit 62100 yard enforcer motion activated sprinkler is made of durable high quality material with a matte black finish. The bottom of the frame has a metal spike crossbar for easy placement.  What is most pleasing on this product is the 3 hose connectors which are made of brass – this means that hose connection will be long lasting, with no leakage problems, and you have options of hose placement.  My recommendation would be to use a heavy-duty hose so the water pressure is consistent but this bad boy does cover up to 60 feet with a maximum PSI of 100. The detector can be manipulated into a range of motions  – 120 degree viewing angle with detection up to 40 feet – this is quite a large area of defense to catch out our cheeky wildlife.  I have used other motion detector sprinklers on the market and found the setting options to be complicated. With the Orbit 62100 yard enforcer motion activated sprinkler, the setting options were very easy to understand. The mode dial comes with 4 selections – off, day, night and always. Sounds easy right – obviously the off selection means the Yard Enforcer will not activate whatsoever. Day mode means the sensor will activate when it is catching rays – senses the sunlight – how cool is that!  Night-time mode is activated after dark and always mode is based on movement detection at all times.  There is a duration knob which controls the timing of the water sprays which can be adjusted – say for example, you aren’t a lover of raccoons – and you have a specific raccoon problem – adjust the duration knob to say 10 seconds of water spray – you know – just to give the raccoons a bit of an extra gotcha moment! However, you love deer – adjust the duration knob to 5 seconds of water spray – you are too kind! Next to the duration dial is our sensor range adjustment to either increase or decrease range of detection.

At the very top of theOrbit 62100 yard enforcer motion activated sprinkler unit, you have the sprinkler operation function with a sprinkler distance control, a deflector shield, friction collar, trip and diffuser pins. Don’t be scared by these knobs!  If you want to reduce the distance of the water spray, there are two things you can do – screw the diffuser pin into the water stream or you can press down the deflector shield and turn the distance control knob.  If I am losing you, trust me, it is super easy to use! If you want to determine where you want the stream of water to go you play with the friction collar, and trip pin – real easy!

Apart from being a deterrent, the Orbit Yard Enforcer does provide a system of just watering your garden with a 30 minute water cycle function so my garden loves me!

Now, what I found most important is where I needed to place my enforcer (I like call it my bodyguard). I placed mine in the direction of where I had a pesky cat entering my yard.  Tom Cat got a nasty surprise the first day he slinked into my yard but I soon realised Tom Cat is no fool. He caught onto my game so you know what I did? I went out and bought two additional sprinklers and attached them to my original Yard Enforcer. There was no escaping the land warfare! Boom! Drop the Mike! Tom Cat has not been back!

Overall, the Orbit 62100 Yard Enforcer is fantastic. It is used on 4 AA Alkaline batteries (not included with product) and the battery life on mine is still going strong – and I have had mine for 8 months – I am just about due to change the batteries. The packaging was awesome and I can confidently say theOrbit 62100 yard enforcer motion activated sprinkler is worth its weight in gold!  My garden looks solid and I have not had an issue with animals in my yard since I purchased the product.
